Jim Michalak founded Plaza Advisors in 2006 following a nine year tenure at Cushman & Wakefield in Tampa where he assisted in building out their retail investment sales group for the State of Florida. Mr. Michalak has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience and has specialized in the disposition of shopping centers for the past 26 years. He has directly been involved in more than $1.5 billion in retail dispositions throughout the southeastern United States.
Mr. Michalak earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He holds a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License and has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) since 1991. Additionally, Mr. Michalak is active on the Florida ICSC Political Action Committee and has served as Chairman of the ICSC West Florida Idea Exchange. Mr. Michalak lives in Tampa with his wife, daughter and three sons.

Keith Nurre joined Plaza Advisors in 2015 bringing more than four years of experience in financial analysis. Prior to joining Plaza Advisors, Keith completed JPMorgan Chase’s formal credit training program working as an underwriter.
Mr. Nurre received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Cincinnati with a minor in Accounting. Additionally, Mr. Nurre is actively involved in International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Real Estate Investment Council (REIC), NAIOP, Society of Real Estate Professionals (SOREP), and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Suncoast Chapter YPC.

Jeff Dervech has been engaged in the commercial real estate industry since beginning his career in 2009, working closely with private owners, investors and developers of shopping centers. Prior to founding Dervech Real Estate in 2014 and joining Plaza Advisors, Jeff begin his career working for a very prominent retail developer, Boos Development Group, to develop numerous retail projects throughout the Eastern United States. From this experience, Jeff acquired the knowledge and foundation to completely understand the dynamics and life cycle of the retail investment from acquisition to disposition.
Mr. Dervech is passionate about and loves commercial real estate. He is actively involved in trade associations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), having held past leadership positions, Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Tampa Bay Real Estate Investment Council (REIC). Jeff is proud to have earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate with a Minor in Entrepreneurship from Florida State University.
